By the time Kelley was 15 years old she was well on the road to being financially independent. The rule in the Long household was that if you wanted a car, you had to buy it yourself and pay for the insurance. Through baby-sitting and her first humbling job at a fast food restaurant, she scrimped and saved bills in a glass Christmas tree jar on her bookshelf. On her sixteenth birthday she proudly purchased a beat-up Ford Tempo (affectionately named ‘Shirley Tempo’). This experience laid the foundation for her ability to understand the basics of money.
Her career experience built on this foundation and now she looks to share her knowledge, money attitudes and life philosophies with the world through her coaching practice.
Her credentials include:
Certified Public Accountant - former Tax Consultant with Deloitte
Magna cum laude graduate of the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University, where she attended on a full academic scholarship
Former writer of bi-weekly financial column, Cents & Sensibility, for Cincy Chic online publication
Approved presenter for Cincinnati Archdiocese Pre-Cana Family Finance program
A native of Traverse City, Michigan, Kelley sits on several non-profit boards relating to education and healthy youth. She splits her time between Cincinnati and Chicago, with clients in both cities. In her free time she can be found jogging, reading, writing, watching the Ellen Show or cleaning up cat hair generated by the four cats she shares with her sweetheart, Matthew.
